BLACK SABBATH Interviewed At Tonight's KERRANG! AWARDS (Video)

June 7, 2012

British heavy metal legends BLACK SABBATH were named the most inspirational band in rock earlier tonight (Thursday, June 7) at The Kerrang! Awards 2012 Fuelled By Relentless Energy Drink.

The reformed band — consisting of vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bass player Geezer Butler — picked up the Inspiration Award at Kerrang! magazine's annual awards show at The Brewery in Barbican, London.

On the eve of what will be a triumphant return to Donington Park, with their headlining appearance at the Download festival on Sunday, June 10, BLACK SABBATH collected this trophy in honor of their immeasurable impact on heavy rock. Put bluntly, without BLACK SABBATH, there would be no METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER, LAMB OF GOD, MACHINE HEAD…the list goes on, with Lars Ulrich once saying, "BLACK SABBATH is and always will be synonymous with heavy metal."

A short video interview with Osbourne, Iommi and Butler conducted by Kerrang! right after tonight's awards show can be seen below.
